At Szimpla Bar

They had a big movie projector in the outside area - that's the B&W image.

More Szimpla

Out on the street outside Szimpla and other bars..
You weren't allowed to  smoke in the bars, so people would hang out on the street outside the bars and chat and smoke.

I'm not sure what the name of this club was or the band, but the sign outside said Bazar Hostel. But it wasn't a hostel.

The bar with the band.

Near Bazar Hostel, near Racoczi Ut.
Christmas Fair down at Vorosmarty Ter.

Subway

Over by Heroes Square

Széchenyi Thermal Bath

Museum of Hungarian Agriculture - this was weird. This castle supposedly embodies 26 styles of Hungarian Architecture. And it's used as museum of agriculture.

Ice Rink near Heroes Square.
Bad Ass Heroes statue.
Weird Islamic architecture near Heroes square.
Subway shots....

Probably the worst meal on the trip. Fried dough with cold ham and cold cheese. ?
I imagined I'd get some sort of deep fried calzone thing. I ate half and chucked it.

One of the few Trabants still on the road.
Over on the Pest side... I was walking to get bus #150 to go to Memento Communist Statue Park.

Helpful signs let you know how soon your next bus will be at the stop. #150 coming in 6 minutes.
"Close enough".

Memento Communist Statue Park

This one is probably the most creative/original.

This one commemoratesthe Soviet soldiers who died fighting during the popular uprising against them in 1958.

Everything that communism in practice, is NOT.

They had this Trabant at the gate that you were allowed to get in.

Even worse that a Pinto or a Chevette.
This was another museum there... built like a gulag.
The entrance of the museum.
